Today it's a big model!! It's the Delorean from Back to the Future II in scale 1/20.
This is quite a time consuming model, not so difficult but you need a tank full of patience to build this masterpiece.. I spend more than 25 hours to build this one. It's printed on 100g paper and not reduced because of the small details of the "cockpit". I also used plastic sheets that can be put in your printer for the windows and the windscreen (unfortunately because my normal paper wasn't thick enough, the windcreen is slightly bent.. But I honestly don't care that much since the glass effect looks really good. Note to those interested, the plastic sheets react really good with transparent gel glue.)
I also put wires for a more realistic finish (the wires's places are included in the instructions of the model.)
The doors can be opened and the wheels can go down but both systems have to be added by hand since they are not included in the instructions. For the doors I made a rotating system using the plastic tube of an ink pen (this is a friggin' NIGHTMARE to empty, trust me..) and for the wheels, I created the white pieces and glued them to the wheels after cutting a square hole to insert the white pieces in the black pieces where the wheels are going. (It's not very clear...
) Huge thanks to
to have given me advice on how to create the systems.
His wonderful model here.
I originally built this model for a short movie contest about BTTF II (we didn't win it though) but now it has become one of my most prized models!
